“The Pacifics” is the fifth volume in this series on Chinese standard gauge steam locomotives, and completes the coverage. The book covers all of the Pacific classes. The book takes a detailed look at the main “modern” Pacific classes and covers all of the Pacific types used in China. The book includes 64 pages of colour images for the first time.
The first 133 pages are devoted to the Pacifics and the remainder of the book gives additional information and images on the locos covered in Volumes 1 (JF1 + JS), 2 (JF6 Family) and 4 (Foreign Steam Locos). The sighting lists for the JF1, JS, JF6, PL2, YJ and SY classes have been restated in full with additional information. There are 420 images in total including 100 images of SL6 class locos and 77 images of RM class locos.
